Homemade Baked Beans

Never mind your Heinz or Batchelors baked beans, these beans are super easy and super cheap to make. They’re perfect for weekday lunches too. Full of protein and fibre with none of the added sugars that most tinned beans contain.

I make mine a meal by adding a few ‘embellishments

  • Spinach or dark green salad leaves to the bottom of the bowl (the heat from the beans will naturally wilt the leaves)

  • Adding chicken for extra extra protein

  • A drizzle of olive oil for good fats (also helps to absorb all the nutrients and keep you fuller for longer)
